Interested in making a difference?

Orange County has over 2,000 nonprofit organizations whose missions are to improve our local community – and they need your help!

The Disneyland® Resort Show Your Character Community Outreach Program will assist you in making a profound difference in our community by helping a worthy organizations deliver valuable services to those in need.

As a program participant, you will have the opportunity to select a nonprofit organization that sparks your interest – and support them with a volunteer project!

In recognition of your time and effort, completed projects will earn the organization that you’ve partnered with a $5,000 - $7,500 award – a gift that will ensure their services continue to help those in need!

In honor of 50 years of making magic, the Disneyland® Resort launched the Disneyland® Resort Scholarship Program. This program continues to recognize students who demonstrate excellence in volunteerism, exceptional leadership within their communities and strong academic performance.

Show Your Character Community Outreach Program

A total of 25 projects will be selected to be a part of the 2007 Disneyland Resort Show Your Character Community Outreach program. All of these projects will fall into one of the following two categories.

Gold Level Projects
10 projects will be selected as “Gold Level Projects.” These projects will:

  • Be provided a Disney VoluntEARS Project Leader assigned to serve as a mentor for the project.


  • Receive $250 “seed money” for the teacher to use towards the project with an additional $1,000 to be awarded to the classroom if the project is successfully completed and all materials are submitted by April 6th, 2007.


  • Receive $7,500 to the nonprofit organization at the conclusion of the project, if project is completed and all materials are submitted by April 6th, 2007


  • Be eligible to receive the $20,000 Excellence Award for the 2007 program


  • Silver Level Projects
    15 projects will be selected as “Silver Level Projects.” These projects will:

  • Receive $250 “seed money” for the teacher to use towards the project with an additional $750 to be given to the classroom if the project is successfully completed and all materials are submitted by April 6th, 2007


  • Receive $5,000 to the nonprofit organization at the conclusion of the project if project is completed and all materials submitted in by April 6th, 2007
